Our Linux Installation Service lets you send in a laptop or desktop you already own and get it back running a clean, fully updated Linux system, set up and tested by the same Brisbane team that prepares every ArkPC computer. It is a simple way to give a capable machine a fresh start without the guesswork.

Free assessment – no surprises
Not every component works well with every Linux distribution. That is why the Linux Installation Service starts with a free compatibility check. If a part such as a wireless card or storage drive would stop your system running reliably, we contact you with our recommendation and a written quote before doing anything. Nothing is fitted or charged without your approval.
If you decide not to go ahead, or the device cannot be completed, we refund the $175 service fee and send your device back. The only cost is the return delivery fee.
Pricing
- Service fee: $175 per device
- Return delivery: $40 per laptop or $50 per desktop (non-refundable)
All prices include GST. Payment by card. You arrange and pay for sending your device to us using a tracked service.
How to send your device
- Place your order, selecting your device type and Linux distribution.
- Download, print and complete the Device Intake Form.
- Back up any files you want to keep – all drives are fully erased.
- Remove any firmware (BIOS) passwords and make sure the device is not locked to an organisation.
- Pack the device securely with the signed form (include the power adapter for laptops and mini PCs; desktops need no power cable) and send it by tracked post to the address in your order confirmation email.
Before you order
The Linux Installation Service is an installation and setup service. It does not include data backup or recovery, and your hardware remains covered by its original manufacturer warranty only. Please read the full Service Terms before ordering.
